Okay guys, I’m going to be very serious for a moment. I need you to pay attention to this, because a family I very dearly love needs help, and they need to quickly.
On May 14th, 2014, my roommate’s father, Victor Sharp, passed away very suddenly from a severe blood infection and septic shock. This was completely unexpected and, since he didn’t have insurance, put her mother in a position of suddenly being down to one income and many, many hospital bills.
A week later, after a biopsy with her doctor, her mother, Denise, was diagnosed with later stage, aggressive cancer. She is also uninsured (because who can afford insurance right now?) and is facing even more hospital bills than she was expecting. This a very serious condition and she’s obviously very scared for herself, her family, and how she is going to pay for all of this.
Denise is one of the sweetest, most loving people I have ever met. She would help out anyone who needs it, is always willing to talk, and never judges, no matter what is going on in your life. She is like a second mother to me and I love her dearly. She doesn’t deserve anything that is happening to her right now. But it is, and she needs all the help she can get financially.
We’re not asking anyone to pay for all of her bills, and this is not some sob story we’re making up to make some quick cash. This is real, and this is very, very needed.
I usually don’t do posts like this, because I never feel as though any of the problems I have are worth asking people for money over.
This is not that kind of post. This post is for my dearest best friend and roommate’s family. My second family. This is a legitimate cause, and one that is very desperately needed and any help at all would be appreciated.
You can donate here, if you would like. If you can’t donate (and that’s okay!), please do consider reblogging this, as we are trying to get this out to as many people as we can.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
(Jennifer (my roommate), Denise, Christina, and Lindy)
(Denise and Victor)
Editing to add: Denise has started her treatment on chemo. Tomorrow will be her second round of once a week for six months. This is going to be an incredibly difficult time for both her and her children, and they are obviously still concerned about how she is going to pay for this. Adding in to all of this is trying to help their mother, while still trying to deal with the sudden loss of their father.
Anything at all would be of great help, even if it is just reblogging and spreading the word. Thank you so much for your support, thoughts, and prayers! You have no idea what they mean to the family.
